Catch-up Month: Vampirella by BigGuido

I actually did this one of Vampy earlier in the month of June as a personal exercise. After some consideration, I decided to post it here on FOCer's. I thought it would be a nice addition to the blog and has that "Cheesecake" flavor all of us Friends Of Cho love. Vampy has always been a fantasy of mine, so she fits into the FANTASY theme in the broader sense of the term!

I drew this on Canson XL recycled sketch paper with a set of Utrecht drawing pencils - H to 6B. I used a Utrecht kneaded eraser that came with the set for corrections and highlights. No model or reference - all outta my head!

I've been an admirer of his work for a while, and Vampirella just seemed like a character that would lend itself well to his style.

Done entirely digitally in Manga Studio 4 Debut.

Week Sixteen: Vampirella by Scott Christian Sava

Wanted to try pen and ink...and then wash over with watercolors.
I like how you can be very loose with the watercolors if you have line work set down.

But I've got WAY too much to learn when it comes to linework.

Still...was fun to do. Even with me sick with a cold.

I know I've been absent for awhile and I'll try to do better. Maybe even go back and add some of those that I missed....maybe...

Erik is right - my plate is pretty full these days juggling animation duties and trying to be the oldest man to start a comic book career leaving me little time for drawing on fun stuff. Not to say drawing the graphic novels isn't fun...

Anyway this is another cheat for me. An old Vampi I did for a good friend several years ago and one I did for my Fan Request Fridays. If I get a moment maybe I'll add some color to one of them so it looks a little fresher
