Flash Gordon by Shawn Dueck




This one was inspired by Alex Raymond's 1936 storyline "The Undersea Kingdom Of Mongo".

After perusing the strips online I was surprised at how often Flash changes wardrobe -like every five panels. What a clothes horse! Must be a polo-player thing; I wouldn't understand.

Raymond's drawings are just so incredibly wonderful.

    Most Mongo animals are just Earth fauna with a horn sticking out of their head, but I thought this chicken-of-the-sea-horse-asaurus was really something else!

    Don't know how Flash keeps a straight face riding that thing.
